Microsoft Studios Acquires Rights to Gears of War

Today, Microsoft announced it has acquired rights to the Gears of War franchise from Epic Games, passing down development to Black Tusk Studios. Former Director of Production at Epic Games, Rod Fergusson, was confirmed as joining the Microsoft team moving forward with the franchise. Unfortunately, this means the Gears of War series will more than likely remain an Xbox exclusive, so Playstation 4 users will remain in the dark for the fantastic series. No word yet on any windows for a next installment in the series.

In my personal opinion, Gears of War has made a move in the wrong direction (as far as Online Multiplayer is concerned) with the past few games, and I welcome changes to the series. Fingers crossed in hopes that Microsoft can make something exciting happen with this one – preferably without the use of a sawed-off shotgun. Please.
