Instagram Introduces Direct Messaging

Instagram announced today at their New York event that it will be rolling out a new feature today titled “Instagram Direct.” It’s a direct messaging service that seems to be a response to the popularity of apps like WhatsApp, Kik, and Snapchat, which are focused more on a peer to peer dynamic. Instagram Direct allows you to send messages, photos, and videos to either a single individual or groups, for a more personal, yet community driven dick-pic-off. That’s what Snapchat’s for, isn’t it? Maybe I’m using it wrong. Anyway, look out for that update today on your iOS and Android devices. I can’t wait to see what you send us via our instagram…
