“Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’s” James Avery Has Passed Away

James Avery, better known as Uncle Phil on TVs “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”, has passed away on New Years Eve due to complications from open-heart surgery.

Avery, whom was 67, has worked on a lot of great TV shows and movies up until his death. His latest work was in the Zach Braff movie “Wish I Was Here”, which was funded by Kickstarter earlier this year and will premier at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival later this month. For me, though, I will always remember him for his voice work as the Shredder on the late 80’s cartoon series “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”

Our hearts go out to this great man’s family. James Avery, you will be missed.
